Dr. Jacob Boney created Scottsdale Pediatric Behavioral Services to practice, teach, and disseminate Behavior Science to all. His goal is to make Behavior Analysis consumable and beneficial for every person, parent, and professional who interacts with their environment. Dr. Jacob provides comprehensive behavioral assessment, treatment, and consultation services to patients between the ages of 2-100.
ABOUT
Dr. Jacob earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. In addition, he earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Phoenix. He secured postdoctoral Board Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis through Florida Institute of Technology and applied training at The BISTÅ center. Dr. Jacob is currently licensed as a Behavior Analyst in Arizona.
Dr. Jacob has worked in academic, private, intensive outpatient, and community mental health settings. He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults to provide individual, couples, family, group, and multi-family group therapy. Dr. Jacob has training and experience conducting psycho-educational and functional behavioral assessments. He uses this data to provide both in-home and intensive outpatient behavioral services for pediatric behavioral and developmental disorders. As well, Dr. Jacob has acquired experience treating substance use, cognitive, behavioral, and developmental disorders as well as severe problem behaviors with child, adolescent, and adult populations.
Although Dr. Jacob works with a wide range of patients who exhibit many different symptoms and who are diagnosed with various clinical disorders, his area of specialty is the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric behavioral and developmental disorders. Specifically, Dr. Jacob utilizes behavior-analytic principles and technology to conduct functional behavior assessments (including experimental functional analyses), evaluate existing data and documentation. He uses this data to custom design behavior interventions. In addition to these services, Dr. Jacob provides behavioral consultation to parents, professionals, educators, schools, and direct-care staff in both individual and group settings.
